Beginners Yoga (usually offered one or two times per year in 4-week sessions):
These classes are for brand new beginners or nearly new beginners and will teach standard yoga postures, emphasize body awareness and safety, and can help prepare someone new to yoga to join any ongoing yoga class.

Power/Vigorous Kripalu Yoga (not currently offered):
We will do Kripalu yoga postures at a moderate to vigorous pace to build strength and flexibility. The classes will end with deep relaxation. You must have yoga experience and be in good physical shape to take this class.

What is Kripalu Yoga?
Kripalu Yoga teaches breathing, stretching, and relaxation techniques while emphasizing the practices of being present, listening to one's body, and accepting where one is today in terms of flexibility, strength, and alignment. Any style of hatha yoga will give you the benefits of physical strength and flexibility, Kripalu yoga also teaches you to accept yourself how you are in this moment.
As you become more experienced in Kripalu Yoga, you will be guided into Flow Kripalu Yoga where you let go of the mind and allow the energy of the body to guide you into spontaneous movement.

What can Yoga do for you?
Yoga can improve your flexibility, range of motion, coordination, posture, concentration, sleep, digestion, strength, fitness, and breathing. Yoga can also help you reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and increase your peace of mind.
